Welcome to the Women Composers‘ Association!
Welcome to the Female Composers' Association!
Female composers have been largely ignored and outright suppressed by a monopoly of music and film industry but also by the academic community of researchers, musicologists, music educators and historians.
I had the great fortune of being a musicology student by the visionary and multi-disciplinary musicology professor and gynecologist Prof. Dr. Maria Brockhoff in my home town in Münster, who managed to have trailblazing personal communications with contemporary composers such as Stockhause, Penderecki and Cage.
She captured the imagination of huge audiences by bringing alien concepts home to many people, and her curiosity in the effects of music and its interconnectedness with and impact on the wider aspects of life and evolution were inspiring whole generations of musicologists and composers.
Despite her own highly unconventional role that she created for herself even she was unable to open up the floodgates for female composers.
But there is always so much any one generation even of pioneers can achieve. I feel that the time has come to help my fellow composers on the way - without the need of the usual monopoly kind of societies that demand a vow of Omerta to a culture of hidden agenda.
Let's simply ooen the floodgates of unheard female talent that have been ignored for far too long.
I only provide a platform for you but for what it is worth it is an honest and unconditional one!
Share freely your talents, so that they inspire hunanity at its finest!
